AI is useful downstream of good structure: drafting SOPs, flagging outliers, compressing review time. It cannot rescue a program that has no standards to automate.
The productive question is not "can AI coach?" It is "which decisions in our pipeline are rule-based enough to draft automatically?" Session notes, load flags, and weekly summaries qualify. Exercise selection for a post-op knee does not.
Human-led, AI-enabled means the human owns thresholds and exceptions; the machine owns formatting, aggregation, and first drafts. Reversing that order is how departments end up with confident nonsense.
